Blue_Chi: Operation Rescue Twitter

    Great Ideas BC

Sort of like a tweet version of the 12 step process?

Tweets Anon.... My names BlueChi, and I love tweeting. I've been tweet free for ... 4 hours...

Keep it up BlueChi. But if it's truly addictive, and you're a true addict, I predict failure I'm afraid. Otherwise, its a soft <strike>drug</strike> addiction!

Dragon, I don't remember the last time I've been tweet free for 4 hours, except when I'm sleeping, LOL. It's crazy.

Balqis, you are very funny (not). :P I corrected my post. (That was an Arabic-English language problem).

Is the problem tweeting, or just the the crackberry?

    Maybe you're displacing.

The problem is Twitter, it doesn't matter if I use it on my phone or my computer, but I think that I'm managing time better now, so it is not as bad as it used to.

    Keep it up Mr. Blue.

    All the best.

Nice one blue_chi! Well done for getting organised and love the banner. Only people who haven't tried it will suggest quitting. I've only just started on Twitter but can see how it's easy to end up like you. ;) I just downloaded Klok, and will be copying your other techniques too, not because of Twitter but am generally wasting too much time at work. :) Thanks and keep it up!

Dude, you're totally wacked up. How about the next TA meeting in Muscat? (Twitterers Annonymous aka. Alcoholics Anonymous)? Trying to be funny when I'm actually concerned. All it requires is a little discipline. If you discipline yourself to have TweetDeck shut then you're safe. If you find you can't stick to it after a day or two, get off twitter completely for a week. You'll feel renewed and you might realize how much you're missing out on in life.

    Cheers,

    Nadia,

You are just too sensible. Do you not ever just go with the flow?
BC should just set a reasonable goal, and manage his time.

BC, I'd say if you tweet for less cumulative time than some people watch TV (and you don't watch TV) you're fine.

But view it as a managed addiction. Focus on remaining fully functional in all the important areas of your life...

    Thanks for your replies everyone.

Nadia & Dragon, I'm just doing what you guys are saying, closing down TweetDeck when I need to get some work done and trying to accomplish some daily tasks I aim for. Yesterday after work I managed to read some books, reply to some forum threads, and I even went to the gym for the first time ever. I think I've progressed really a lot since I declared my addiction!
