Its ok to quit twitter... even for a little while. Hell, even Miley Cyrus quit twitter and rapped about it on youtube.
mmk080, I can't just delete my account, I am not as strong as Miley Cyrus! (awain). I really have a lot of fun on Twitter and I made many new friends there, it's a big part of my daily life and I don't think the solution is to delete my account!
you can be the first to found the TA as in AA
but that is really bad!! i just pray i dont end up like you man!
Confession is good, now you've made step 1, I would suggest uninstalling tweetdeck, and try checking tweets on web once (or twice) a day, your tweet friends would understand that you are busy and that you just cant afford real-time updates all the day. Plus, i have always thought chatting on twitter is an abuse to tweeting.
Since you are an addict, first days will be hard of course, I wish you make it :o)
Here's what the Mayo Clinic [see http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=re...
describe as drug addiction - in the extract below I've just replaced 'drug' with 'Twitter' : see what fits!
Twitter addiction symptoms or behaviors include:
* Feeling that you have to use twitter regularly — this can be daily or even several times a day
* Failing in your attempts to stop using twitter
* Making certain that you maintain a regular access to twitter
* Spending money on twitter even though you can't afford it
* Doing things to obtain twitter that you normally wouldn't do, such as stealing
* Feeling that you need twitter to deal with your problems
* Driving or doing other risky activities when you're under the influence of twitter
* Focusing more and more time and energy on getting and using twitter
Can you perhaps be a functional twitterer?
But seriously, it is causing me harm cause I can't do anything in my free time but check twitter continuously.
Living in a Virtual World is not the right choice for someone as bright and as smart as you. Oman needs you. Please come back? I'll give you free therapy sessions! Don't throw your life away!
